29 Day Giving Challenge

Yesterday I was at the bookstore, a place I have adopted as my "sitting ground" during my daughter's soccer practice. I was in the "self-help" section - for some reason I am drawn to that area of the bookstore. I was attracted to the cover of the book 29 Gifts. I opened it up and stood there and read for the next 90 minutes. I was sucked into this book and the message it was espousing. If you have a chance please visit the website www.29gits.org. I will be posting my 29 gifts on-line. Which means by putting this in print, I kind of have to stick to it - that is a risk and one I am going to take. My first gift is this post. It is a gift to Cami and her cause. Thank you Cami, for making me realize I have a lot to give.

Week 43 - "Balloons" Photo Challenge

I am thinking this is a perfect photo for "Fix-it Friday". I would love to know how to eliminate shadows. Regardless, I could not pass up posting this photo featuring my niece. It was her 2nd birthday and she had this group of balloons that was twice as big as her. She was literally in awe of the balloons. Visit I

Sports Photography

One of the areas of photography that gets my undivided attention is sports. I just completed a class and took away some helpful hints. I photographed using a 300mm fixed, f/2.8 Nikon lens. Press passes got his on the field for the UC Davis Aggies vs the Portland State Vikings football game. My heart will always be with photographing my kids sports, but for this class these were my two favorite shot.

Lesson in motion

I took a photo class a couple weeks ago and our task was to capture motion. Our adventure took us to the Portland Saturday Market - where motion is around every corner. The expression of this street perfomer was a true indication that he had found happiness. Whether or not the happiness was being in the moment or his life's passion it was a true reflection of doing what he loved.
